How Dutie Works
Every verification starts with one simple principle — trust belongs to everyone.
Dutie connects businesses and individuals through secure, verifiable identity flows built on peer-to-peer logic. No middlemen, no opaque databases — just clear, auditable trust between parties.
Step 1 — Initiate Verification
A business, institution, or individual creates a verification request through the Dutie app or API. This could be for identity confirmation, document validation, or credential verification.
Each request is encrypted and timestamped from the moment it's created — ensuring integrity and preventing tampering throughout the process.
What happens:
- Verifier selects the type of verification needed
- System generates a unique, secure request ID
- Optional: Set expiration time and data permissions
- Request is ready to be shared with the other party
Step 2 — Secure Response & Authentication
The person or entity being verified receives the request via QR code, deep link, or direct invitation. They review what's being asked and provide consent before proceeding.
Verification methods available:
- NFC ePassport/Document scanning for highest security
- Biometric authentication via device sensors
- Document upload with AI-assisted validation
- Existing credential reuse from previous verifications
Users maintain full control — they see exactly what information is being requested and can choose which verification method to use.
Step 3 — Trust Confirmation & Record Creation
Once verification is complete, both parties receive a cryptographically signed trust record. This becomes a reusable digital handshake that can be referenced in future interactions.
The trust record includes:
- Verification timestamp and method used
- Cryptographic proof of authenticity
- Permission scope and expiration (if any)
- Transparent audit trail

Step 4 — Reusable Trust Across Platforms
The verified identity or credential can now be reused across different services, platforms, and applications — without repeating the verification process.
Users control where and when their verified identity is shared. Each reuse requires explicit consent, maintaining privacy while enabling convenience.
Reuse scenarios:
- Onboard to new financial services faster
- Access age-restricted services instantly
- Verify professional credentials across platforms
- Streamline partner and vendor onboarding
The Trust Network Effect
Dutie Trust Network Visualization
As more verifications occur, Dutie's trust network grows stronger. Each verified connection adds to a distributed web of trust that benefits all participants:
- Reduced fraud through verified identities
- Faster transactions with reusable credentials
- Lower compliance costs through automation
- Global interoperability across borders and systems
Why Dutie's Approach Works
🛡️ Consent-First Design
Nothing happens without explicit user approval. Users see exactly what's being verified and why.
🔄 Peer-to-Peer Logic
Trust can originate from any verified entity — not just centralized authorities. This creates a more resilient and democratic trust ecosystem.
🌐 Multi-Channel Ready
Works seamlessly via mobile app, web interface, or direct API integration — adapting to your workflow.
⚖️ Compliance-Ready
Built with GDPR, AML, and local regulatory requirements in mind from day one.
🔐 Privacy-Preserving
Personal data stays with the user. Only verification status and necessary claims are shared.
Technical Foundation
Dutie uses modern cryptographic standards including:
- Digital signatures for verification records
- End-to-end encryption for all sensitive data
- Zero-knowledge proofs where appropriate
- Secure enclave storage for biometric data
